I love jewellery that can be interactive rather than just a beautiful object. Most of my jewellery was created from a sense of wonder "How things are made", "What if I made something like....."
This tuning fork necklace's idea came from watching a science lecture about sound, thinking "What if I made a small tuning fork as a piece of jewellery....?".
A tuning fork is an acoustic resonator in the form of a two-pronged fork with the prongs (tines) formed from a U-shaped bar of elastic metal. It resonates at a specific constant pitch when set vibrating by striking it against a surface or with an object, and emits a pure musical tone once the high overtones fade out.
The sterling silver tuning fork version is tuned in F# and can be tuned in G. The bronze tuning fork is tuned in B and it can be tuned in C.

Adorable! I love it! It was exactly what I was looking for! I didn't much care what note it was, but as is stated in the original description, it is an F#5. Another reviewer mentioned that it was on the quiet side, this is true. I still love it, wouldn't change a thing, except maybe in future if customizable notes were available... Because I would buy at least 2 more...
