Philosopher's Stone Fidget Necklace - Jungian Psychology Alchemy Statement Jewellery

This is a great gift for those who love alchemy and Jung's psychology.
I dedicate this necklace, especially for Jungian psychology followers. The philosopher's stone symbol's centre circle is represented by selected stones which I translated my take on Jungian alchemy ideas.

This symbol can spin and fidget and you can see it from different angles and discover new perspectives that are a similar feeling of being in analysis.

Just above the philosopher's stone symbol, there are Sunstone and moonstone(s) sit opposite and you are the one to hold the tension of opposites symbolically. This ideas came from Jung's quote "The greater the tension, the greater the potential. Great energy springs from correspondingly great tensions of the opposite. "

Gemstone Info

I have chosen 5 kinds of stones to represent the centre circle of the alchemy symbol. I think each stone has its own unique property which also fits jungian alchemy ideas.


<Black Opal>
The full spectrum of colours inside Black Opal symbolises harmony. It has been considered to balance the energy of its owner. In some legends, it is said that “Opal is made on the spot where rainbow arises in the sky.” Opal has been symbolised as a miracle of hope. Opal also has own myth of both good and bad luck stone which describe nicely the idea of holding the tension of opposites.

<Labradorite>
A stone of transformation, Labradorite is a useful companion through change, imparting strength and perseverance. It balances and protects the aura, raises consciousness and grounds spiritual energies.

<Lapis Lazuli>
Lapis Lazuli is one of the most sought after stones in use since man's history began. Its deep, celestial blue remains the symbol of royalty and honour, gods and power, spirit and vision. It is a universal symbol of wisdom and truth. When I asked a jungian analyst which one she would choose for herself and she replied me Lapis Lazuli.

<Prehnite>
Prehnite is considered a stone of unconditional love and the crystal to heal the healer. It enhances precognition and inner knowing. Prehnite alleviates nightmares, phobias and deep fears, uncovering and healing the dis-ease that creates them. It is a stone for dreaming and remembering.

<Fire Agate >
The Rubedo is known as reddening, the final stage of the alchemical process. It's symbolised the reunion of body, soul and spirit. Historically, Fire Agate was used in alchemy because it was believed to contain the essence of fire.Its symbolise as protection, grounding, giving life energy.


<Sunstone and Moonstone>
On the chain, a sunstone and moonstone(s) to present the Sun and the Moon. They hang opposite and you are the one holding the tension while you wear. I wanted to explain this idea symbolically using the gemstones.

<Philosppher's Stone note>

From the Middle Ages to the late 17th-century, the so-called “philosopher’s stone” was the most sought-after goal in the world of alchemy, the medieval ancestor of chemistry. According to legend, the philosopher’s stone was a substance that could turn ordinary metals such as iron, tin, lead, zinc, nickel or copper into precious metals like gold and silver.

I have been interested in Jungian psychology for a while. I have read an alchemy book written by a Jungian psychoanalyst Marie- Louis Von Frantz. In Jungian psychology, Jung found that the alchemical process of turning the ordinary metals into precious metals have similar process as so called individuation process in Jungian psychology. When I finished reading this book, I wanted to express what I learnt from her book with my jewellery.


As the person who would have this necklace, I wanted to create something that it's you who make your stone into gold symbolically.
