Handmade October Birthstone Colourful Tourmaline Scattered Gold Long Necklace. Jungian Psychology, alchemy symbolic jewellery.

This meaningful jewelry is a great gift for someone who loves psychology, philosophy and symbols.

This symbolic necklace consists of 4 colours of tourmaline stones; black, whitish-blue, yellow and red which also represent alchemy stages of "Nigredo", "Albedo", "Citrinitas" and "Rubedo".

This beautiful multicoloured pendant represents what Jung called the Individuation process that goes around like a spiral staircase. I made it a long necklace so that you can just put this symbolic necklace without undoing the clasp and you can imagine that symbolically you are in the process of individuation. In Jung's terms, Individuation means becoming the person who you really are.

Making this necklace takes a long time; connecting individual stones to one after another. By making it, I do feel as if I am in the process of individuation.

An elegant and meaningful long gold finish necklace was inspired by the Jungian Psychology of alchemy stages explained below.

<<First Phase>>
Known as the nigredo or blackness and this phase is ruled by fire. The period of loneliness and associated with the descent into the past of Individuation.

This stage is represented with black tourmaline- a grounding stone that provides a connection between the Earth and the human spirit.

<<Second Phase>>
This is known as the Albedo - the whitening, the purification. This Phase is ruled by water; awakening, opening the heart, cleaning the soul. I have chosen this stage stone as blue tourmaline to represent water.

<<Third Phase>>
This stage is known as the citrinitas. It's the transformation stage of silver into gold known as the "yellowing of the lunar consciousness ". Transparent yellow tourmalines represent well on this part.

<<Fourth Phase>>
Both gold and the philosopher's stone were associated with the colour red. Rubedo is the final stage of the alchemical process, the end of the great work and the last stage of the individuation, the coniunctio meaning reunification. This relates to the reunion of body, soul, and spirit and inner conflict lessons. I think the red tourmaline is a great stone to be chosen.
